The Chekumukhi Science Quiz competition was conducted by Jana Vigzana Vedika, A.P. In this competition Sri Prakash Students got 1st place in Mandal and Districts. K. Abhishek (8th class), A.P.S. Manideep (9th class), G.S.G. Teja (10th class) and attempted next level in January 18,19,20 in Visakhapatnam for state level quiz competition.
Sri Prakashites (E.M.) topped the chekumukhi science quiz – 2013 held on 15th December at JNTUK. The chekumuki science celebrations began on 21st November, 2013 and continued for 25 days. Initially in this chekumuki talent exam, 63 thousand students participated from both English and Telugu medium at the Mandal level. Out of these 63 thousand students, 62 teams were selected for the district level quiz. It was conducted on 15th December, 2013 at Kakinada. Out of the 62 teams from both the media, 5 teams from English medium and 5 teams from Telugu medium were selected for the final quiz at the district level. In this quiz, Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan, Tuni stood as the topper from English medium at the district level, scoring the highest of all the other teams in the quiz. The Sri Prakashites selected in this quiz are: A.P.S. Manideep, G.S.G. Teja and D. Abhishek. This team is selected for state level quiz which will be conducted at Visakhapatnam in the month of January, 2014.
Our environment is not only getting polluted but also people get diseases with bio-waste such as cattle excrete, urine and agricultural residues etc. To utilize that waste material into a useful thing, the students of Sri Prakash S.Y.Sandhyarani(9th Standard) and group experimented on Bio-mass Energy.This project was presented at District Level Children’s Science Congress on 26th November in Visakhapatnam.It got selected for State Level Children’s Science Congress which was held on 1st and 2nd of December in Rajahmundry and also got selected for National Children’s Science Congress which will be held between 27th December and 31st December at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.The students explained the use of biomass provides employment, increase local and regional economical activity, achievement of additional income in agriculture, forestry and timber industry through the scale of bio-mass fuel. Impact on employment and above socio-economic aspects are the biggest advantage of using bio-mass compared to fossil fuels, but also to other renewable energy sources. The State Level Event of 20th National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) organized by Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science & Technology, Hyderabad concluded today here at Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, Payakaraopet, Visakhapatnam district with the budding Child Scientists, Guide Teachers and Organizers participating in the event with great devotion and scientific attitude.
Presiding over the valedictory function Er.Y.Nagesh Kumar, Member Secretary, APCOST informed that the participation from the districts was overwhelming and advised the students, guide teachers and District Coordinators to continue the same tempo to benefit the society. He said that 177 Child Scientists have presented their projects before the jury members on 10th & 11th November 2012 and 30 Projects are selected for participation at the National Level Event to be held at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh State during 27-31 December 2012.
Sri R. Ankaiah, Associate Director of Research, Regional Agricultural Research Station, Anakapalli, participating as the Chief Guest said that sincerity, devotion to work and thirst for new knowledge are the three most important aspects in everybody’s life and these will only determine the growth and prosperity in life. Students are the builders of future India and with their continuous persuasion towards knowledge and research, India will advance in all spheres and become a superior Nation in the World, he hoped. The State Government has taken an initiative, in the form of NCSC, for developing the innate skills and talents of the students for depicting their scientific temper and outlook. Students should be exposed to Critical Learning and Creative Learning to enable them to proceed further in their pursuits of research. Students would be confident about their subjects when they do the practicals relating to the concepts.
Smt. K.Krishnaveni, District Educational Officer, Visakhapatnam District participating as the Guest of Honour, suggested the students to emulate great scientists and leaders and shape their careers to receive accolades from the highest bodies in the World.
